I think I’ve been dreading this week for almost as long as I’ve been a mother. The day my last baby leaves the house and sets off on the beginning of a life independent of us, well… it’s finally upon me. My youngest sails off on an adventure that is a dream, and I’m happy – thrilled, really – for her, but at the same time, no matter how much I love my husband, and am looking forward to just being “us” again, this is difficult for a mom who has made a life’s work of being a mom. Hard to realize that it’s here, and it’s happening the week before Christmas.
Sigh… I do know of another mom at our church who is in the same situation this very week, except, her baby – a son – is leaving for Marine boot camp. All things considered, I’m counting my blessings for our daughter’s situation, which is not anywhere close to boot camp!
Ah… despite all the craziness of getting things ready for her departure, I have found a few things to share with you this week. Be blessed!

Well, do chores need to be done, but it’s always good to have a wake-up call now and then! 😉 Thank you for your kind words, it does help to encourage me that this season shall pass. Merry Christmas!
Honoured to have made your Monday Mondays 12.15.2014 list, Christine, and love what how you describe yourself in ABOUT – particularly, “I have no greater talent than simply loving the people around me.” I can’t for the life of me think of anything more important!
Thank you for stopping by, and what you wrote was so timely and needed, how could I not include it? Thank YOU!
